The Critical Minerals Institute (CMI) Watchlist
First introduced in 2024, the CMI Watchlist tracks critical mineral priorities across 12 leading national and multilateral lists, including those published by the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the European Union, India, Japan, South Korea, and NATO. Through a rigorous comparative process, CMI independently selects and ranks minerals based on their strategic importance, supply-chain concentration, geopolitical exposure, substitutability, and relevance to defense, technology, and economic security.
